Chiba peanut products are almost never disappointing, so I tend to buy them whenever I find them. Roadside stations and Fusa-no-Eki shops in Chiba often have generous sampling corners, and I believe I have tried nearly everything. So many products are genuinely delicious.
When whole peanuts feel a little expensive, seeing them turned into a sweet makes the price seem more affordable, and I end up buying them.
I found the Rakkamaki introduced here in a small souvenir corner opposite the produce section inside Yashio PA. Ten sticks cost ¥234 including tax.

On the other hand, it is difficult to tell which region this souvenir belongs to. I hesitated over its category on this blog too, but classified it under Chiba because peanuts are the main ingredient.
The ingredients are simple, so parents can feel comfortable serving it to children.
The packaging is full of nostalgia, like something you might find at your grandmother’s house.
The best-before date is printed along the bottom of the bag.

The flavor resembles a thinner, sweet kawara senbei cracker. The texture is light and crisp.
It contains plenty of finely chopped peanuts, giving it a pleasant texture. The gentle sweetness becomes addictive.
The stick shape keeps your hands clean and makes each piece easy to eat, so they should also be convenient to distribute individually.
They are just right for a snack in the car on the way home from the service area.
