I bought these at Ichikawa PA, a parking area for enthusiasts on the Bayshore Route. Could this be a parody of Shiroi Koibito?
I had heard of a product from Osaka called Omoshiroi Koibito, and when I found something similar closer to home, I bought it on impulse.
The seaside and rapeseed-flower illustration on the package is refreshing and distinctly Chiba-like! (Though that may not be the real issue…)
Chiba no Koibito (Nagotoya)
A box contains 12 cookies and costs ¥648. The best-before date is printed on the side; from the date of purchase, it appeared to keep for about three months. That is plenty of time for normal consumption.

The back of the box is simple.

This is what the box looks like when opened. The wrappers say only “Koibito” and “Langue de Chat.”
The heart mark is adorable.
Individual wrapping makes the cookies easy to share, but because “Chiba” does not appear on each wrapper, show recipients the box if you want to emphasize that these are Chiba souvenirs. That is a little unfortunate when handing them out individually.

Even the contents look just like Shiroi Koibito!
They look almost exactly like Shiroi Koibito!
If anything, they may look even whiter.

Here is the cross-section. It is just as expected.
Naturally, white chocolate is sandwiched inside.
As for the flavor, the langue de chat has a delicious crisp bite!
The white chocolate is satisfyingly thick, with a milky melt-in-the-mouth texture.
Perhaps thanks to the lemon juice in the ingredients, the finish is bright and refreshing, making the cookies easy to eat.
Like Shiroi Koibito, they are dangerously difficult to stop eating one after another! Personally, I recommend chilling them so you can enjoy the firmer white chocolate.
I was able to buy something very much like my beloved Shiroi Koibito in Chiba without traveling to Hokkaido. Shiroi Koibito-style products are sold in other prefectures too, so comparing them could be fun.
