Delicious Milk Pudding by Fujimasa Foods: A Compact Taste of Chiba, Birthplace of Japanese Dairy Farming

This time, I would like to introduce an easy and affordable souvenir from Chiba, a prefecture whose appeal is still not fully appreciated. We have featured many Chiba products, yet the region continues to reveal hidden attractions. Perhaps being next to Tokyo makes it harder to stand out. The product here is called “Delicious Milk Pudding,” and surprisingly, Chiba is said to be the birthplace of dairy farming in Japan. How many different faces can one prefecture have? I bought it at Umakuta no Sato Roadside Station, which we have reviewed before. Here is a quick look.

Delicious Milk Pudding from Fujimasa Foods’ Narita Factory

The package states that it is made with 100% Chiba milk from Furuya Milk Industry. A large milk-bottle illustration appears beside the words “Chiba, Birthplace of Dairy Farming.” The prefectural mascot Chiba-kun is shown below, making this a design that proudly promotes Chiba. Seven puddings weigh 161 grams in total and cost ¥300; the package contains 182 kcal. The best-before date is printed on the back and is about one year away. The product can be stored at room temperature. The lid also carries a cute milk-bottle illustration.

My impressions after tasting Delicious Milk Pudding

Let’s try it. This is a very soft pudding with an almost melting texture. A smooth, gentle sweetness spreads across the palate. The natural deliciousness of the milk remains vivid, and it tastes excellent (^^) Since it was summer, I chilled it before eating, although room-temperature storage is perfectly safe. That convenience makes it especially easy to choose as a souvenir. The small cups are also ideal for a child’s snack. This product appears fairly often at roadside stations and service or parking areas across Chiba, so there should be many chances to find it. Anyone interested should give it a try.
