Honestly, I bought it simply because I was thirsty. Still, it is made with ingredients from Chiba and comes from Yamasu, a company responsible for many tasty products, so it deserves a review.

I bought it at Ichihara Service Area on the outbound Tateyama Expressway. It was displayed in the refrigerated section alongside other regional drinks and cost about 140 yen.

The tea uses small-grain barley grown in Chiba Prefecture. The best-before date is printed on the cap, and it kept for about one year from the purchase date.

The label says the barley is kettle-roasted.
Looking closely at the package reveals the silhouette of a kimono-clad woman holding a parasol.
The morning-glory-like pattern across the design also has a lovely summery feeling.

What Does Boso Barley Tea Taste Like?

The flavor is clean and refreshing, with no bitterness, making it extremely easy to drink.
Even small children can happily drink plenty of this tasty barley tea.

It is also reassuring that all the main ingredients come from Chiba Prefecture.
The price is no higher than an ordinary bottled drink from a convenience store, which is another welcome point.
