Naming really matters for a product.
Chiba is famous for peanuts, clams, and pears around Ichikawa. Octopus seems unexpected, yet the name “Famous Mayo-Tako Rice Crackers” caught my attention and persuaded me to buy them.
I casually assumed they would be safe for both children and adults, but they were good enough that we finished them almost immediately, so I strongly recommend them.
What Are Famous Mayo-Tako Rice Crackers?
The intriguing package caught my eye at inbound Ichihara SA in Chiba. They cost ¥378.

A takoyaki picture on a Chiba product?
Despite that question, the simple yet striking package made me buy it.
The hand-drawn lettering and takoyaki illustration are amusing.

The bag contains 100 grams.
The ingredient list shows that it genuinely includes octopus.
Tasting the Famous Mayo-Tako Rice Crackers
Aosa seaweed and red pickled ginger are mixed into the crackers, making them look like takoyaki.

The texture is crisp and crunchy.
The strong seasoning combines sweet sauce and rich mayonnaise for a true takoyaki flavor.
You can clearly taste the red ginger, while shrimp and bonito flakes add lively aroma. The sweet-and-savory taste is addictive enough to make the whole bag disappear.
I bought these crackers because the package intrigued me.
They are genuinely delicious enough to deserve their “famous” name and are highly recommended.
