Buying souvenirs whenever we go out has become part of everyday life. Even so, unless we shop with a plan, the house quickly fills with souvenirs, and we also have to keep an eye on best-before dates.
It becomes especially difficult when several similar products accumulate. Finding yourself with three comparable boxes of sweets waiting at home is dangerous.
That is the state of our souvenir-filled life. Regional potato chips, however, disappear instantly when shared among four people, so I always buy several different varieties.
One particularly distinctive and recommendable bag is the “Sea and Sun Salt Lemon Chips” introduced here.
Sea and Sun Salt Lemon Chips
I discovered and bought them at Ichihara Service Area on the outbound Tateyama Expressway.
They may be slightly expensive for potato chips.
The bright sea and sun and the fresh-looking lemon illustration create a refreshing, almost tropical mood.
The lemon character in the upper-left corner is apparently named Kamore-kun.

A 120-gram bag cost 432 yen and has a shelf life of 120 days.

What Do Sea and Sun Salt Lemon Chips Taste Like?
The thick, ridged chips have a lively, light crunch.

The gentle saltiness brings out every bit of the lemon flavor. Its refreshing acidity gives the chips a clean, light finish. They are delicious.
They are clearly different from ordinary potato chips, so they offer more than enough sense of something special.
Perhaps they cost slightly more than other regional chips because they use rare lemons grown in Kamogawa.
Enroll at Kamogawa Lemon University
Surprisingly, Lemon University has both a website and a YouTube channel, although only one video had been uploaded.
People who buy these chips may find that watching the video while eating makes the experience even better.

There are many other Kamogawa lemon products too, and I fully intend to try them someday.
The stylish package should also make these chips a well-received souvenir for younger people.
Thank you for the treat.
