I came across this collaboration between spiny lobster and everyone’s favorite snack, Bakauke.

I bought it at the roadside station Fuwari Shibayama, located in a town famous for its haniwa figurines.

It’s already clear this is going to be a great product, but here’s a quick review!

The gold-colored, luxurious packaging immediately catches the eye.

A spiny lobster-flavored “Bakauke” snack? It’s bound to be delicious.

Each pack contains 8 bags with 2 pieces per bag, priced at 540 yen—a bit on the souvenir side of pricing.

The Bakauke character dressed as an ama diver is a nice touch. ^ ^

The label also says “Bakauke Premium,” which raises expectations.

Each package (2 pieces) contains 41.6 calories.

The shelf life is about a month and a half from the purchase date, but since texture is key for this snack, it’s best to enjoy it sooner rather than later.

The package has a tear notch, making it easy to open by hand. You can start snacking right away in the car.

My Thoughts on Tasting the Bakauke Spiny Lobster Flavor

Alright, let’s dig in.

The texture is the same familiar, light crunch that Bakauke is known for. This sense of familiarity is really important.

The spiny lobster powder is generously coated, giving it a luxurious flavor.

In addition to the lobster, I can also taste the umami from clam extract, making it incredibly delicious!

The seasoning feels richer compared to regular Bakauke. As someone who loves bold flavors, this is perfect for me.

The kids couldn’t get enough of it, fighting over the pieces as they ate. If we had opened it in the car, it probably wouldn’t have lasted until we got home.

Everyone loves Bakauke, and the spiny lobster flavor is amazing—it’s a guaranteed hit.
