The seller is based in Kochi Prefecture, although you may also find this product at larger supermarkets.
The package says it uses Kogane Sengan, apparently a variety of sweet potato.
Sakata Nobuo Shoten Salted Kenpi
The smiling photograph of the grower is wonderful.

The best-before date is printed on the back: 120 days from production.
The ingredients are sweet potato, oil, sugar, and salt made with deep-ocean water.
This simple list is excellent. When a maker is confident in the flavor, nothing unnecessary is needed.
My Review of the Salted Kenpi
Let us try it.

The beautiful kenpi has a vivid golden-yellow color.
Its surface coating is satisfyingly crisp.
Sweet with a faint saltiness, it becomes impossible to stop after the first bite.
The salt is made using deep-ocean water from Muroto, Tosa.
I have eaten many kinds of imo kenpi, but this strong sweet-and-salty flavor made a real impression and left me eager to buy it again.
Sakata Nobuo Shoten’s Salted Kenpi is highly recommended—just be careful not to finish the whole bag at once.
